NX Records and Goldsmiths University Music Department partnered with Lewisham Live for another year to showcase young music creators from the borough. The mixtape can be streamed online.

Unlock the Arts was a project for 13 - 19 year old's with an interest in the creative sector but who just don't know how to break in. They jumped on a Zoom call and chatted with a creative professional. Young people could ask questions, hear stories, even pitching their own ideas!
Young people told their stories and made their views heard in this 4-day group workshop focusing on music, theatre or creative writing. Using the theme ‘Activism and me’ as a jumping-off point, they got top tips from the experts whilst creating something that they can be proud of.

LEAN wants young people aged 15-19 across Lewisham to share their opinions on the arts and creative careers, and to help shape the future of creative youth activity in the borough!
This project in the Easter holidays saw 28 young creatives work industry professional artists/ workshop leaders Intalekt, Kenny Baraka, Arthur Lea and Alice Hale. The online songwriting sessions focused on exploring creative processes, and helped young people to shape their own motifs, lyrics and other ideas.
This series of free online workshops, delivered by industry professionals, were held for young people interested in working in the creative industries, including backstage, music and filmmaking. The workshops were led by leading creatives from Southeast London: Ahnansé (Steam Down), Ben Stephen (Head of Production at the Albany) and filmmakers Jan Rufus, Ella Bennett and Lee Squires.
Kenny Baraka wrote and filmed a rap especially for the Lewisham Live Festival 2021. His rap was inspired by the young people of Lewisham and we invited our online following to write and perform the response in a TikTok-style duet.
Lewisham Music teamed up with South London Samba to host 12 weeks (starting with taster workshops) of high-energy drumming workshops for young people aged 10-17.
Pianist Jocelyn Freeman of SongEasel and soprano singer Francesca Chiejina brought the music of Schubert's Winterreise to primary schools in Lewisham.
Young creatives joined by musician Eska Mtungwazi, writer and Young People's Laureate for London Cecilia Knapp and choreographer Sarah Golding to creatively explored the climate emergency at Trinity Laban
Live Dance is an annual showcase open to all Lewisham Schools, organised by Trinity Laban, offering them the opportunity to create and perform a dance. The schools taking part this year were asked to create a dance film: either a filmed dance performance or a dance made specifically for camera. These were edited into a digital showcase and premiered online for families to watch together at home.
